Plus Courses

Our multi-level Plus Courses help students to refine their abilities and vocabulary in one of many areas of relevance in the modern world. Students work together on micro projects, and every week they present what they have produced.

You can choose to study the same Plus Course for up to 4 weeks or you can choose a different Plus Course each week.

London Explorer

University Preparation & Exam Techniques

For students who want to get the most out of being in London, these workshops investigate:

  • Legendary London musicians such as David Bowie, Stormzy, Adele, Amy Winehouse, Queen and so many more

  • World-class art, design, fashion and architecture from icons such as Alexander McQueen, Tracy Emin, and Sir Norman Foster

  • The influence of sub-cultures, from skateboarding and BMX to Banksy’s graffiti and Grime music

  • The city’s sporting heritage, from Wembley to Wimbledon to Lord’s Cricket Ground

For all future football stars!  Taught by professional coaches from Wycombe Wanderers FC, students work on practical skills such as:

  • Passing and receiving, shooting, & decision making

  • Dribbling, heading, and touch and ball control

  • Skills, tricks and running off the ball.

  • Teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and handling success and failure

In these workshops they:

  • Use coding platforms such as Python, an entry-level coding language

  • Use their knowledge of Python to move on other coding languages such as C++ and C, the principle coding language used in games design

These creative drama workshops are for students who enjoy physical expression.  In these workshops they:

  • Use creative drama activities to improve confidence, communication and concentration

  • Learn what it means to move in particular ways

  • Practise their verbal and non-verbal communication skills and learn how to use props

  • Play drama games and use role play and characterisation to develop their imagination and explore their creativity

For students with a love of performance and theatre, in these workshops they:

  • Study acting and performance techniques

  • Explore plays, improvisation and physical theatre 

  • Learn about stage craft and the process of putting on a play

  • Work together to produce short drama sketches
