Stewart Brown - Head Coach for the Football Academy
We are delighted to introduce our newest team member, Stewart Brown, who will be joining us as Head Coach for our Football Academy at Lord Wandsworth College. Stewart brings with him a wealth of experience and a proven track record in nurturing young talent, which we are confident will greatly benefit our academy and its players.
Stewart's coaching journey commenced in 1994 when he managed a grassroots men's amateur team in Stockport, Greater Manchester. Despite not having a background as a professional player, he embarked on the coach education pathway, earning qualifications such as the UEFA A Licence Coach, FA Youth Award, and Level 2 Talent ID. He firmly believes that this pathway has enriched his coaching abilities, and we are fortunate to have someone with such dedication and expertise joining our team.
Over the past twenty-eight years, Stewart has been actively involved in coaching and developing players. His most recent roles include working with Manchester United as a development coach, focusing on youth development within the soccer schools programme and Foundation. Additionally, he has been contributing to the development of players at Rochdale AFC within the Community Trust and Academy.
Stewart's experience extends beyond his current roles, having worked with various prestigious clubs such as Southampton FC Academy, Barnet FC Academy, Accrington Stanley Academy, Burnley FC Academy, Macclesfield Town FC, and Manchester City Ladies U18s. Notably, he has had the privilege of working with outstanding talents like Dwight McNeil, who is currently excelling at Everton, and Ethan Nwaneri, who made history as the youngest ever Premier League debutant last season while at Arsenal.
Moreover, Stewart has been instrumental in player development through his involvement with three player recruitment companies: Pro11, SpottedBy, and The PFSA (Professional Football Scouts Association).
As former coach in the English Premier League, we are confident that Stewart's expertise and passion for nurturing young talents will significantly enhance our Football Academy and elevate the skills of our players.
