8 things to pack before English Study Camps

Your flights are booked, your English programme awaits and it’s time to pack your bags!

If you're coming to the UK with English Study Camps by WSE, we want to make sure you have everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. From essential clothing and toiletries to important documents and study materials, we've compiled this brief list to ensure you have the most important things before you travel. Get ready to explore the UK with confidence and make the most of your language learning journey.

So, let's dive in and discover the best things to pack for your upcoming adventure!

Here's our 8 things to pack to ensure you have everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

1.Suitable clothing: The weather in the UK can be unpredictable at the best of times. It can go from sunshine to thunder storm in a short space of time, so it's best to pack layers. Bring a mix of t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, sweaters, and a light jacket or raincoat.

2. Footwear: Don't forget to pack comfortable shoes for walking and any specific sports or activity shoes you may need. If you are doing the Football Academy or Football Skills at Lord Wandsworth College, don’t forget your football boots!

3. Toiletries: While some basic toiletries will be available at the accommodation, it's always a good idea to bring your own. Pack essentials like toothbrush, toothpaste, suncream and any other personal hygiene items you require. Don't forget to include any medications you may need.

4. Electronics: If you plan to bring electronics, such as a laptop, tablet, or smartphone, remember to pack the necessary chargers and a UK adapter. The UK uses a different electrical outlet standard than some other countries, so it's important to have the right adapters to keep your devices powered up.

5. Power bank: Because of the many activities and excursions you will do, it is important to stay connected throughout the day. Having a power bank will make sure your phone stays charged and you can capture the memories and send pictures to your friends and family back home.

6. Documents and Money: Make sure to bring your passport, student visa (if applicable), and any other important documents. It's also a good idea to carry a copy of your travel insurance and emergency contact information. There will be opportunities to go shopping on your study trip, so don't forget to exchange some currency to British pounds or have a bank card that works abroad so that you can buy souvenirs.

7. Backpack or Day Bag: A sturdy backpack or day bag will come in handy for carrying your belongings during your outings and excursions. Make sure it's spacious enough to hold your essentials like water bottle, snacks, camera, and any other items you may need throughout the day.

8. Entertainment: There is no shortage of entertainment at English Study Camps but don't forget to bring some entertainment options for your own free time to help you relax. This could include books, magazines, a tablet, or any other items that you enjoy during leisure hours.

Before you travel, we will also email you a useful pre-arrival guide so you can  check for any other items we recommend bringing. It's always a good idea to pack light and prioritise the essentials while keeping in mind the duration of your stay and the activities you'll be participating in.

Remember, English Study Camps offers a variety of activities and excursions, so pack accordingly for both indoor and outdoor adventures. For most sports you just need suitable clothes. Tennis rackets and other gear is provided unless you have a favourite tennis racket you want to bring with you. But most importantly, come with an open mind, ready to learn and have a fantastic experience in the UK!
